What You Don’t Know You’re Missing
In this first free video, The “What You Don’t Know You’re Missing” Video, I’m sharing why I wasn’t able to achieve success even after spending thousands of dollars on books, courses and seminars. You’ll also discover the two factors to achieve success (no, it’s not thinking possitive or believe in yourself). Watch it below:

Hi Patric,
Nice video. I have been following your email and blogs 3 years ago and you are doing amazing well these few years. For sure, this is not an overnite success and Congratulation to you !!. I hope I can be like you one day as I have read books, attended seminars and tried for many years but not yet success. I am still figuring out what is still missing although I know about the compelling reason but sometimes I find it hard to justy that this is my missing link. May be this is where I lack of. Anyway, hope I will keep on learning from you. Thanks for the video.
Best wishes,
William (Penang)
Patrick:
This was some great info!! I can completely relate. I too, have spend thousands and thousands of dollars on different programs, also thinking “this is it” – “this HAS to be it”. But after I read the book, went thru the program, listened to all the audios, watched all the videos, or whatever – nothing ever changes. The funny thing is, I have made it halfway to what you are talking about here. I have been able to get my mind around the content I studied, and I have actually drafted an action plan (but I have never FOLLOWED THROUGH). Which I have identified as a roadblock for my own personal development – I can come up with all the greatest ideas in the world, I can really get psyched up about a new plan – but I really have issues following thru. It’s so easy to get distracted, and jump right into the NEXT new idea or strategy, and then just never, ever stop and apply the things I have already learned. Additionally, I have had compelling reasons to be successful – I am the single mother of some fantastic kids, and there are numerous volunteer opportunities I would love to pursue. But I think the two keys to my success are, actually taking action on my action plan and tying all three of these success points you mention together. This was very helpful to me, I appreciate you taking the time to produce this video and I look forward to the next installment.

Patric,
I cannot agree with you more…
For a very long time, I have strongly supported the notion that most people do not achieve success for one (or both) two reasons, both of which you touched upon:
1. You don’t want it bad enough.
2. You lack the basics to get there.
Listen, wanting it bad enough is what gives you the drive… without drive, without desire to do it, without the mental discipline to commit yourself until you DO achieve success, you will never reach it.
But what about not wanting it bad enough? You do a half-assed attempt, and when you fall, you don’t really worry about getting up (I reference that fantastically inspirational video of Mark that you showed us, about how a limbless man can be the happiest guy in the world).
Maybe you don’t really NEED to have the success, which is why you don’t really try too hard. Or maybe you are not prepared to put in the effort required to get there. Look, Donald Trump didn’t win the lottery, ok? He worked his ass off for the empire he has created… against unbelievable odds and through unspeakable hardships. But he prevailed. He got up. And kicked butt.
Which leads us to what you say about “reasons”.
If you don’t have a reason to do it, then you won’t. Nothing happens without drive and desire and commitment… and those stem from having a true, compelling reason to be driven and committed.
I want to sidetrack for a moment, and say something about reasons. I have known peope to join religious orders in the darkest moments of their lives. Religion aside, the fact remains they have done this because they felt they had nowhere else to go.
Same can apply in your desire for success; it can come from a NEED to break out, and from a reason to PROVE something.
Look, there is nothing wrong in a negative motivator, if it pushes you in the right direction. It’s just as good as “good” reason.
And yes… I set out to prove to people that despite it all, I could quit a job, and live comfortably on my terms, with my sweat and time producing the lifestyle everyone said I was lving in a dreamland about.
Moving on, some people do have the inner fire to do it… the rest is made up in knowledge. But just like in Taekwondo, where you don’t learn a flying spin-kick on your first day, they lack the basics to get started, and try to go into the deep end immediately.
They are taught all the “advanced” stuff, without knowing the mechanics and basics of what these are built on. And in the Online Marketing sphere, this happens waaaay too much.
Guys, realise that it does NOT work like this; you have only to look at your hard drive for the latest “underground” killer tactics package programme you invested in… that did nothing for you.
Like Patric said, there are no secrets. Demystifying the whole process goes a long way to making it work, and if you have the real compelling reason to follow your drive and desire to success, the knowledge of basics FIRST will get you there.
I could go on and on and on…
So yes, Patric hit it spot on. Nice one!

thanks for sharing patric..

i cant wait to see more video from you..
I cannot access the video . This is the second day that I have tried.
Hi William,
A strong, compelling reason, you’ll live your dream because you’ll not give up. It took me many years of challenges to have my fair share of success.
Hi Helen,
Thank you for your kind words. In the next video, I’ll share how it takes more than just focus to achieve your goals.
Hi Josh,
Thanks for taking the time to write and share with others. I’m glad we have the same thoughts.
Hi Ryan,
You’re welcome!
Rachael,
Could be be due to your internet connection? I assume it’s working well, based on the comments we’re seeing here.
Thanks everyone!

Hi Ryan
Great video it is so true that you can have all the knowledge but if you do not take some kind of action the knowledge will remain just that knowledge. I did enjoy your video.
Thanks for the invite to watch for free.

Hello Patric,
Thanks for the great motivation! I’m on my way to success and I’m doing my best to take action every single day – even though in small steps. My goal is to launch my own autoresponder series by the middle of this year and my own personal development product by the end of 2009.
I look forward to promoting your system soon once I have my own list.
Thanks.

Great job on the video Patric. Your sincere and honest and it shows. I’m sure almost everyone has experienced what you explained.
This is why people can produce these success seminars, books, videos etc because not every one can follow through. I’m afraid most of us are creatures of habit, we revert back especially if we come across something that fears us. Otherwise, we would all be RICH.
I too have not found my compelling reason and I feel PASSION is another reason why most have not been successful.

Thank you for sharing this video. Like you say I have read a lot about how to make money but I am still looking forward to that day. I welcome your advice and look forward to the next .
Hi Patric, I think this is simply a great video. In a short 10 minutes or so you were able to give the essence to achieve success. You could give examples that can be easily related to. One has to understand the concept of success and work out a strategy of action. What captured my attention was the compelling reason. Having said that, I think perseverance is another important factor for one to achieve success.
This is my first time ever to submit a comment and I find it very interesting and informative as I get to read inputs from others on the same topic. This is great sharing.
Good one! Hope to learn more from you.
Cheers.
hi Patrick,
I’ve been following your blog and especially like your video recording. Your video recording about the 3 “correct” always kept inside my mind and this is what I always tell other moms about it now.

Hi Patric,
Your message is personal and heartfelt.
There are several things I can relate as well.
For example, the reason why I want success so badly is to show to the world
that an internet business actually works.
And of course, not so important secondary reasons like
getting a nice car, house etc are pretty compelling for me as well.
Your frankness is very refreshing and I look forward to seeing more
such messages from you.

Hi Patric, watched your video, I went through same as you, many seminar many book. how do you measure success? is that how much money you can earn? is that you understand and could use what ever you’ve learned? are we all try to be financially free? what is your field? every field will have failure and success, but to be success you have to do something, then how do you measure the success?
will watch your video and to learn how to success.
thank you.
Excellent video Patric.
I totally agree with everything you are saying here about success
Hi Patric,
Great video
I agree, finding sucess online takes time & commitment. Just knowing that you want to be sucessful online isn’t enough, you need to know what area you would like to learn more about. I think it’s important to find the area that makes you feel passionate about learning. That way you will put the time & commitment in & the more you stay commited the more chance sucess will follow after a period of time
Thanks Patric.
Cheers
Anne
Hi Patric,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the principles of success. I too have spent thousands of dollars on various Books, Seminars, Resources, etc over my life and have had some degree of success. Looking back, my successes came about because of a Compelling Reason, taking Appropriate Action, having the right Attitude, Making a Commitment to myself, being Accountable to another (mentor, coach, friend, etc), being Passionate & Persevering through the challenges (opportunities), for there will be some along the way – that is what makes it all the more worthwhile when you succeed – because your have earnt it! I look forward to your other videos in this Series. Patric – you certainly walk your talk, it is quite refreshing to see in the world we live in today.
Have an Awesome day!

Hi Patric.
I love the way you end youe messages” I Chan Do” saying I Can Do! great way to instill onfidance.
I have been following your blog for quite some time and always find the stuff very useful, quite motivating and above all very well said.
In your video that I just watched, I got my missing link of success i.e. having a compelling reason!! I now know this is the KEY to all success, just knowing What you Want and working Action paln is lifeless, if you have no compelling reason.
Many thanks for what you are doing for free for human excellance.
God bless you Prtic.

Thank you for this video. This is the first I’ve heard of you and I loved what you had to offer. You are very “real” and down to earth and I appreciate that alot!! You offered real advice/info., not fluff. I look forward to hearing from you much more. Lynn
One thing why I’m been a loyal fan of yours for many years is that you always offer great advice and valuable information and believe me I’ve plenty from you. Thanks, Sojean
Thank you for sharing your story, Patric. I am working on clarifying my compelling reason today!
Warm regards, Sandra
Hi, Patric,
I enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for an inspiring story! I, too, have attended many wonderful seminars, read many books, listened to audio training, etc. I have accumulated a wealth of intellectual information, but having the brain knowledge does not magically transfer into action, as you mentioned in your video. I am finally moving forward in my life and am currently creating a new seminar series that will launch in my local area. At 40+ years old, I still have one year left to earning my B.A., so I’m certainly not what most people would term “an expert.” Compelling reasons, however, ignite creativity, and I am excited to be preparing to offer a new seminar model that I am confident will be successful, effective, and timely. For me, getting the clarity, vision, and courage to do this took some investment of time with a professional coach. It has by-far been the best investment I have made in myself to date. I encourage everyone to consider valuing themselves enough to do the same….as well as tapping into people with great messages and knowledge such as yourself.
I wish you continued happiness and success!
Peace and abundant blessings to you,
Kimberly
Hi Patric
Kudos to you because common sense isn’t that common. My father tried to explain to me that in his estimation at least 85 percent of the people on this planet just don’t get it. As for the other 15 percent that can connect the dots on their own some will learn how to do that faster than others.
From the posts on this blog it appears that you are connecting with the top 15 percent of people who are not only thoughtful about self actualization but are also actively participating to improve each other by posting here.
The hard part in this type of work is to make it simple enough that anyone can get it and at the same time be inspiring enough to do it. A most recent example was evident in the U.S. Democratic campaign slogan “Yes we can!
The irony of a compelling reason as simple as choosing to do something because you can, is complicated by the next question of – how? Your answer to the how question lies ahead and and I look forward to participating in how you will choose to release your insight.
If anyone reading has not yet heard about Susan Bolye, here is a link to a summary of her journey, compelling reason and action that is currently making history in the world today. . . right now

Hi Patric,
Just want to say thank you for sharing this amazing video.
I think most of the people here already shared what I thought of.
And yes, my next question to this video is HOW?
How can we really dig into ourselves and talk to the inner me and finally come out with the compelling reasons that motivate us to move on? I think this is my biggest question after watching this video.
I really like the part you said “knowing how to success” and “actually achieving success” are completely two different things. This is really the key and explains why 99.9% people is fail of getting what they want.
I am very looking forward to your next video and the information that you are going to share in the next two weeks. Hope that you will share with us “how to find yourself a compelling reason to continue get what you want”, the most painful process when achieving success.
Thank you very much and all the best to you.
I can testify to the fact that the law of attraction works; I have a wonderful husband and two amazing daughters. I have good health and great friends. I thank God daily for all of my blessings.
Never, did it occur to me that the reason I have not yet reaped the benifits of an online business is because I haven’t used the power of positive thinking.
This video has helped to put me on the right track. Starting today I will make and keep commitments to myself to develop the basic habit of effectiveness.
Thanks Patric, you are an inspiration.
Great…..true and down to earth………the secret is DOING IT even if its not perfect…..take action and go into motion and momentum will follow…you are doing a great contribution to so many people including me…i really admire you…you are my true hero..keep it up…thank you for motivating me and sharing to all.. : )
God bless you and your family chan. Cheers. Love all your videos!

Hi All,
Thanks for leaving your comments and sharing your thoughts.
I like to bring out what Brian said about 15% of people who are ‘elite’, which is true. In general, it is said that 5% of the people own the wealth of the 95%. For you to be leaving a Comment or watching this video has automatically put you on the ‘elite’ level because you’re aware of what is going on and have the intention to achieve greater success in life.
I’ll be releasing the next video tomorrow, talking about ‘focus’.
Talk soon,

Hi Patric,
I agree, a compelling reason is extremely important. But also important is the concept of being open to receiving success. If you don’t believe internally that you are capable or worthy of it then you won’t get there. Your own subconscious will work against you. I’ve found a big difference in the things that happen around me and things I notice by truly trying to raise my own level of acceptance.
I do know also from experience how big a compelling reason can be. It can drive you hard. But to stay there you need to be able to accept that you are worthy of being there.
Great stuff.
Phil
Hi, Patric.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful personal experience of success.
In this internet era, almost every people (those who have internet) has the same opportunity to achieve what they want and what they need. But research show that there are only 5% in this world can achieve what they really need and want or success (According to Pareto’s rule=80/20 rule). What’s make the 5% people is so different with the 95% people? Are they more intelligence or more lucky?
I think there are something missed out from those who can’t achieve success. Success will not come easily to us if we don’t know the strategy and there must be some reasons why we can achieve success in our life. Sometimes, we have to create a successful environment to ourself and always keep the word “must” in our mind. And the most important thing is the consistant ACTION. Wish everyone Boleh !!!
Thanks, Patric. Hope we will meet soon. HAHA……

Hi Patric,
Thanks for your sharing and coaching. The three points of achieving success are very interesting:
1. Understand Concept
2. strategic Action
3. Compelling reason
I realise that I lack all of those, and the worst part will be I don’t have a strategic action that will bring me where I want to be.
I’ll keep learning from you and believe that I’ll be success in the guidance of your teaching.
Sincerely thanks,
Andrew
Patric,
Thanks for a clearer picture of success motivation. Knowing – then DOING with a ‘reason why’ – a deep burning desire! Aha! It is in the testing, trying doing… I am your affiliate, Patric. Quick question: This blog and email(s) keep a tab on who is referred by whom I guess..? Thanks again for a great video and I see Quality in your training here.. Patric, this can benefit anyone!

Hi Patrick,
I watched both your vids tonight and it was good to be reminded of the basics. I had quit my job and started a new business/see website 2wks ago. But I found it hard going.
Now I realise why. I didn’t have a strong enough Compelling reason and my strategy is weak. I shall work on them straight away.
We need a very STRONG reason to keep our momentum & drive high. Otherwise get discouraged easily when things don’t go well or as quickly as we expected!
2 yrs ago I found a report saying something like “Fail Quickly, Fail Small” so that you can accelerate the learning curve. Most people Fail Slowly, Fail Big! so they give up because lose their shirt/blouse/whatever…Meaning, we must test, modify and re-test until we get it right.
You must be from Penang. So am I. Now in Australia.
Yes, I shall be happy to share your vids on my website, currently still under construction.
Continue the good work!
Ivonne
Hi Patric,
It is marvelous to see that you are achieving success and continue to achieve more by helping others around you to achieve their potential as well.
I enjoyed your video and glad that you are prepared to share freely about your journey and pointers that will guide others to their success.
Video was very natural and comes from your heart. Very down-to-earth, natural style and passionate about getting your message through,
Thanks for pouring into many lives and may you continue to bless many people.
Cheers and God Bless

Patric,
Very refreshing to see a young man who is willing to speak the truth, and tell others what they need to know in order to accomplish in life. Not a trait I see often.
Knowing, and Doing, are two different worlds and most have no understanding in either. Having a mentor was a turning point for me. Goals along with Persistence and Compelling Desires are keys.
Not enough and lack only exist in Ignorance.
Keep on helping others and others will help you accomplish your dreams.
Irvin
Patric; Some years ago I bought a CD about 5 ways to succeed, but abandoned it because I simply couldn’t understand it. While this video was much improved, it still required unreasonable effort to follow. I agree with your view that success requires intense and sustained concentration, but having a clear goal is the starting point, and a professional attitude is what carries it to completion. If I wanted to learn a musical instrument, I could not allow myself to slovenly fail to ensure the intrument was in tune and that I didn’t keep dropping wrong notes and chords. Yet, I’m forever faced with errors of spelling, grammar, tenses, mixed singular with plural use, and improper and manufactured words which could all be eliminated if their authors used the Spell-checker. Accents are trying but some, like Ewen Chia for instance, are skilled and accomplished speakers, while too many native English voices are abominable. Professionalism is the simple obligation to make one’s message clear and precise, not lead the reader struggling to escape from a maze. Learning to swim, ride a bike or learn a language, each require a goal, visualzation, committment and time to accomplish. Too often I read stuff about “getting rich” while sitting in pyjamas at the kichen table, presumably covered in crumbs and empty coffee cups. Hardly a picture of success. There’s an overwhelming desire for instant gratification, and seldom mention of helping other people. These are bums waiting for a hand-out, no sweat! My time is not for wasting in trying to comprehend some spoken or written pigdin language that defies understanding. Do you need examples? How about -”I seen it, he should’ve went, at this moment in time, at a high rate of speed, I wish I would’ve done it, the police drug the lake, he dove into the water, basically, as well also, awesome, there’s many, this will compliment that”.
Hi Patric:
I loved your idea of your strategies for action. You sure left me with a lot of compelling reasons to further myself in my goals.
Thanks Again
John
Hello Patric,
You once again explained it all very clearly, and I definitely agree with you that ‘Knowing Success’ doesn’t automatically mean ‘Owning Success’. Also knowing the ‘WHY’ and having a Strategy of (Inspired) Actions really helps.
All the Best,
To your Happy Inspiration,
HP
Hi Patric,
Thanks for the video. It comes down to action! action! action! doesn’t it? You might make mistakes, but that’s the only way you learn. Thanks for the motivation.

Hi, nice post. I have been thinking about this topic,so thanks for writing. I’ll certainly be subscribing to your site.
well.. it’s like I said!
Nice !
.. Thanks buddy..
Hi Patric,
I just found out your site a frew days ago. Your topics are so great and I\’m learning a lot from them especially now that I just started my own home based business, preparing for my early retirement from work.
Keep it up and more power to you.
Thanks for the tips.. I believe everything you said.
Thanks; a simple, direct, and heartfelt video, your caring shows through.
I have heard something similar before and its good to hear the ideas again.
In addition to your suggestions I think its important to learn to go deeper inside oneself and look for anything which is standing in the way. This is difficult as we don’t like to bring into the light things about ourselves which we have chosen to hide. By doing this we not only become stronger but are able to reduce or eliminate a resistance or problem.
My approach is this. Meditate or just sit quietly on a regular basis and I focus on what I really want. The next step is to ask myself what is standing in the way of achieving the result, then I let the mind wander without restriction. I don’t censor the thoughts.
In my case there was an incident in my childhood where I was abused and I had chosen to hide it even from my parents as I was so ashamed. Now I have identified something very significant, I can work on it, learn to accept that the incident happened and forgive the people involved. This is still work in progress but my barriers are reducing and success seems now to be just around the corner.
If I don’t forgive the people involved I will always be angry and anger is a useless emotion and only hurts me. Try not to take revenge or get justice for something which may be very hard to prove
Hope this helps
John from down under
